Supervisor Responsibilities and Due Diligence Training. Supervisors play an important role in promoting and maintaining workplace safety. Their words and actions demonstrate how they view and value health and safety. The supervisor's attitude influences how workers approach and practice safety on the job; to them the supervisor's attitude reflects the company's values. A supervisor is anyone who instructs, directs, and controls workers as they carry out their work tasks. This could include owners, managers, superintendents, charge hands, lead hands, foremen, department heads, journeymen, and trainers. Supervisors are well-positioned to be safety champions. Effective supervisors are intentional and purposeful in promoting health and safety.
Supervisors should perform regular safety activities, such as safety inspections, observations, accident and incident investigations, or crew safety talks. Other activities may be linked to annual departmental safety plans. Due Diligence is taking all reasonable care to protect the well-being of employees and co-workers. Employers and Supervisors in BC have certain health and safety responsibilities in the workplace to ensure the health and safety of their employees. Occupational Health and Safety legislation defines the general roles, rights, and responsibilities of employers, supervisors, and employees in keeping the workplace safe. These laws protect all individuals in the workplace and lay out specific requirements for due diligence. It is critical all employers and supervisors understand their role in maintaining a safe workplace and their duty to practice due diligence. Testing conducted in this online course is designed to reinforce the information presented. A mark of 80% must be achieved in order to pass this course. The course is able to be taken three times in efforts to achieve the pass mark. Upon successful completion of this online course, a certificate of completion will be available for download and printing. This certification has NO expiry date.

The classroom Supervisor Due Diligence training course is a half day course (9:00 am to 1:00 pm) and is taught LIVE by our instructor via zoom (virtual training). Questioning and answering period during this course is possible as it is a LIVE course with an actual instructor. Each participant will either require access to their own PC or if you have multiple participants you can situate them in a room and project us from a audio/visual set up. After the course all participants will be emailed their certificates. A final exam will be required for course completion.
